Our Activities

At AIREA (All India Renewable Energy Association), we are dedicated to shaping India’s renewable energy future by focusing on sustainable practices, clean technologies, and innovation. Our projects aim to empower communities, promote energy efficiency, and create opportunities for sustainable growth across the country. Below are some of the key projects that are part of our vision to drive India towards a cleaner, greener future.

1. Solar Energy Development Project

Project Focus:
Harnessing India’s abundant solar potential through large-scale solar power plants and distributed rooftop solar systems. AIREA’s solar energy projects are focused on reducing the country’s carbon footprint and improving energy access, particularly in rural and remote areas. Our initiative works closely with local communities, government agencies, and private stakeholders to facilitate solar installations across homes, schools, industries, and government buildings.

Key Highlights:

  • Installation of 50 MW solar plants across India
  • Promoting solar rooftop systems in urban areas
  • Training and empowering local entrepreneurs in solar technology installation and maintenance
  • Contribution to India’s National Solar Mission and supporting the goal of 100 GW solar capacity by 2022

2. Wind Energy Harnessing Initiative

Project Focus:
Expanding the wind energy capacity in coastal and elevated regions of India to tap into the country’s vast wind energy resources. AIREA’s wind energy projects focus on developing offshore and onshore wind farms that contribute to India’s national grid, making a significant impact on reducing fossil fuel dependency.

Key Highlights:

  • Establishment of 200 MW wind power capacity in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu
  • Community engagement programs to raise awareness about wind energy
  • Partnership with international stakeholders for technology and expertise sharing
  • Ongoing research into optimizing wind turbine designs and boosting efficiency

3. Bioenergy and Biomass Power Generation

Project Focus:
Utilizing agricultural waste and other organic materials for bioenergy production. Through biomass power plants and biogas generation projects, AIREA is contributing to cleaner energy solutions while addressing waste management challenges. Our bioenergy projects help rural communities by providing alternative income sources and energy solutions.

Key Highlights:

  • Establishment of 5 bioenergy plants in agrarian regions
  • Converting agricultural and industrial waste into clean energy
  • Training local farmers on sustainable biomass usage and waste-to-energy practices
  • Reducing dependency on fossil fuels by generating clean energy from local biomass resources

4. Hydropower for Rural Electrification

Project Focus:
Promoting small and micro-hydropower projects in hilly and remote regions of India to support rural electrification. By tapping into the hydroelectric potential of rivers and streams, AIREA’s hydropower projects provide reliable and eco-friendly electricity to underserved areas.

Key Highlights:

  • Installation of small hydro plants in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand
  • Collaboration with state governments for seamless integration of hydropower into local grids
  • Promoting decentralized energy systems for rural self-sufficiency
  • Conducting feasibility studies for untapped hydro locations

5. Electric Mobility and Charging Infrastructure

Project Focus:
Fostering the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across India through the development of EV charging stations, infrastructure support, and awareness programs. AIREA is working on creating the necessary ecosystem for widespread EV adoption, thereby reducing vehicular emissions and dependence on oil imports.

Key Highlights:

  • Installation of 100 EV charging stations across major urban centers
  • Partnering with automakers to promote electric vehicles
  • Supporting government policies aimed at incentivizing EV manufacturing and usage
  • Organizing awareness campaigns to encourage public adoption of electric vehicles

6. Energy Storage Systems for Grid Stability

Project Focus:
Developing and deploying energy storage systems to enhance grid stability, particularly for intermittent renewable energy sources like solar and wind. AIREA’s projects on energy storage aim to improve the integration of renewables into the national grid and ensure consistent power supply across the country.

Key Highlights:

  • Installation of advanced battery storage solutions in key renewable energy plants
  • R&D initiatives to explore cost-effective energy storage technologies
  • Pilot projects in states like Gujarat and Maharashtra for large-scale battery energy storage systems
  • Collaborating with international technology providers for storage solutions

7. Waste to Energy Projects

Project Focus:
Converting urban waste, including municipal solid waste and industrial effluents, into renewable energy through waste-to-energy plants. This initiative reduces landfill waste while producing clean energy, contributing to sustainable waste management practices in urban areas.

Key Highlights:

  • Establishment of 10 waste-to-energy plants across metropolitan cities
  • Promotion of biogas production from organic waste in urban areas
  • Collaboration with local municipalities for waste management solutions
  • Reduction of landfill dependency and greenhouse gas emissions

8. Research and Development in Renewable Technologies

Project Focus:
Fostering innovation in renewable energy technologies through dedicated R&D efforts. AIREA supports research institutions, universities, and startups that are developing next-generation renewable energy solutions, making energy more efficient, affordable, and accessible.

Key Highlights:

  • Funding and supporting research projects on solar panel efficiency and wind turbine technology
  • Hosting renewable energy innovation challenges and startup incubators
  • Collaborative research on hybrid energy systems combining solar, wind, and storage
